Harvey Cedars in its own Borough is one of the northern communities on Long Beach Island (LBI), Harvey Cedars is nestled between North Beach to the south and Loveladies to the north. Mostly residential with a limited commercial district spanning approximately six blocks, shopping, dining, movie rentals, and more are found in Harvey Cedars.
Most residences are single family homes. A few multifamily homes remain but new multifamily dwellings can no longer be constructed. The average lot size in Harvey Cedars is 5,000 square feet 50 x 100. Locations in Harvey Cedars include

Family entertainment is important to Harvey Cedars. Throughout the summer, there are activities tailored to children. The mascot of Harvey Cedars should be the blue claw crab, a result of the devotion that the crustacean receives from the natives and tourists alike. Besides the bay which is filled with the delectable delicacy ? minus the drawn butter ? Harvey Cedars plays host to the annual Blue Claw Crab Festival. Stop by to watch the crab races.

 

Although there is no amusement park or other big draw for crowds, visitors can indulge in a little exercise. Sunset Park is Harvey Cedars? recreational facility, complete with basketball courts, baseball fields,bay access, a playground and assorted events and concerts throughout the summer.
